International Colloquium of Social Sciences and Communication ACUM 2024 - A successful edition!
The Faculty of Sociology and Communication had the honor of hosting the 12th edition of the International Colloquium of Social Sciences and Communication ACUM 2024, held on November 25-26, 2024 in Brasov. The event brought together researchers, professors and practitioners from the fields of sociology, communication and social sciences, providing an interdisciplinary framework for exploring topical issues.
Outstanding Keynote Speakers
The conference opened with two keynote lectures:
- Luis M. Arciniega (ITAM, Mexico) - "An Emerging Global Classification of Employees Based on Work Ethic Levels"
- Kai A. Schafft (Penn State University, USA) - "Divided Democracy: Understanding the Spatial Polarization of Politics in the Global Moment in the United States and Elsewhere"
The next day, we had the privilege to listen to:
- Katarzyna Drag (Pontifical University of John Paul II, Poland) - "New Communication Patterns - New Communication Skills. Challenges of Today's Information Society"
Debates and parallel sessions
More than 15 parallel sessions were organized during the two days of the colloquium, covering various topics such as:
- Organizational Dynamics and Crisis Responses,
- Challenges of artificial intelligence in digital citizenship,
- Social policies for equity and resilience,
- Challenges and solutions for sustainability,
- Communication transformations in the digital age.
A major highlight was the roundtable dedicated to HR managers, where current organizational trends and practical solutions for future challenges were discussed.
Impact and future perspectives
We thank all those involved - keynote speakers, moderators, participants and audience - for their valuable contribution to the success of this edition. The event was a great opportunity to promote interdisciplinary dialog and build bridges between researchers from around the world.
