COMMUNICATION AND SOCIAL INNOVATION RESEARCH CENTRE

DESCRIPTION OF THE CENTRE

The Communication and Social Innovation Research Centre facilitates fundamental and applied research in the socio-humanistic field, covering interests at micro level, such as studies related to family, organizations or local communities, and at macro level, such as studies related to quality of life or migration. The members of the centre are qualified to offer various specific services such as career and human resource development, intervention in the field of social work or marketing, communication and public relations.

The activity of the centre is based on good collaboration with representatives of companies, professional associations and non-governmental organizations in Romania’s Centre region. The members of the research centre are also involved in community development projects initiated by local public administration structures.

THE LATEST PROJECTS OF THE CENTRE

  • Sociological research on the travel behaviors and intentions of residents in the counties of Brașov, Covasna, and Harghita, in partnership with Brașov-Ghimbav International Airport, the study collected over 11,000 responses and analyzes both previous flight experiences and intentions for 2025.
  • Enhancement of the competences and possibilities for religious tourism development and for better integration and management of religious sites in the urban environment ReligiTour, project number 2023-1-PL01-KA220-HED-000156074
  • Civil engagement, integration, and better management of the national intangible heritage to raise awareness of European common values—EU context, perspectives, and active citizenship - InThrace, project number 2023-1-RO01-KA220-HED-000156121
  • Aging Well, Pilot research project funded by the UNITA Consortium, running from 2023 to 2024. The project aims to investigate changing perceptions and experiences of old age and the aging process through individual interviews and photo-elicitation interviews.
  • WORTH – WOmen in Resistance in the 20th Century, carried out within the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) program funded by the European Union (01.12.2022-31.05.2024), aims to raise public awareness and increase knowledge and awareness of the historical narrative of women's resistance during their struggles for freedom throughout 20th-century Europe.
  • On-Wheels summer school for the socio-cultural evolution of the European Values, Principles, Identity and Awareness (EUROPIA), an Erasmus+ Strategic Partnerships project (2022-1-PL01-KA220-HED-000086334), coordinated by the University of Warsaw, duration: 31.12.2022 -29.06.2025.
  • Bridging the Gap between Student Competences and Working Life Needs (HEIComp), ERASMUS-EDU-2022-CBHE-STRAND-2 101082717 project, implemented between 2022-2025.
  • CultHera - Civic engagement of cultural and historical heritage in urban and sub-urban environment – EU context, perspectives & good practices, an Erasmus+ project, Strategic Partnerships (2021-1-RO01-KA220-HED-000031987), coordinated by Transylvania University of Brașov and implemented in partnership with the University of Zagreb – Croatia, Universidade da Madeira –Portugal, Universita Politecnica delle Marche-Italy, Foundation for the Development of International and Educational Activity – FRAME – Poland and Pax Rhodopica Foundation – Bulgaria, implemented between 2022-2024.
  • UniCulture: Development of innovative approach for training for university professors to work in the modern diverse and intercultural environment, Erasmus+ project, Strategic Partnerships (2019-1-RO01-KA203-063400), coordinated by Transilvania University of Brașov.
